"I chose ceramics because I love that clay has the potential to be anything. It can be shaped and molded into forms functional and sculptural."
I was born in Pittsburgh, and feel a deep connection to this area. I recently completed my Master of Arts in Ceramics at Carlow University, and am contemplating next steps for my career. My current focus is line of tableware. I create functional work knowing that when a piece goes home with someone, it will be incorporated into their daily rituals. Drinking coffee, eating dinner, sharing a drink with a loved one – all are small moments performed each day and made special by a handmade vessel. I am also excited about the possibility of opening a studio space that will provide opportunities for other local artists.
