I’ve always had a penchant for entertaining, fashion, interior design and an entrepreneurial spirit. As a native of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I attended college in the U.S. and later worked in international business and higher education. Over the years, I struggled to find representation of my vibrant heritage in the design world for everyday use. I decided to blend my passion for design with my Ethiopian heritage and founded Adey Designs in 2009. Since then, I’ve developed products that are functional as well as aesthetically pleasing by fusing Ethiopian traditional elements with simple, clean lines and modern, elegant design.
